Can beginners join Gwent Hockey Club?

What ages can join Gwent Hockey Club?

We welcome players of all ages.

Our junior section starts from Under 6s, with opportunities to progress through the age groups before moving into senior hockey.

We also have senior men's and women's teams, as well as Masters players who continue to enjoy competitive hockey later in life.

At Gwent Hockey Club, hockey really is a sport for life.

Do I need my own hockey equipment?

If you're trying hockey for the first time, contact us before your first session and we'll let you know what equipment you need and what may be available to borrow.

As you continue playing, we'll happily advise on sticks, shin pads, gum shields and other kit.

I've not played hockey for years. Can I still join?

Of course.

Many of our members return after taking time away due to university, work, family or injury.

You'll find plenty of people in exactly the same position, and you'll soon rediscover your confidence on the pitch.

It's never too late to come back to hockey.
