Under 9's runners up in the cup final today.
It was a wet and windy morning as we travelled to swansea this morning but, as the under 9's took to the pitch the rain stopped.
First up was Howell's, it took the team time to settle but, soon the goals flowed with the end result 11-0 to gwent. Goals from James, Morgan, Will and Alex.
Second up was Swansea, a game which gwent allowed Swansea to control. Half time gwent were down 2-0. A half time talk and energised by haribo's the gwent youngsters took control with James opening the scoring followed quickly by will. The game was end to end with the defence of miles, George and Esme working hard to clear the ball. With the combined team effort gwent scored again winning 3-2. Not allowing keeper Emma to see the ball much in the second half.
The final game of the day was against whitchurch, Gwent once again were slow to start and allowed whitchurch to bring the game to us. Half time score 4-0 against gwent. A change of position for the team and the gwent youngsters worked hard clearing the ball wide. Full time score 4-0 to whitchurch.
When the youngsters took charge of the game the play was fantastic to watch with the ball moving around the pitch. It has been great to see the team develop over the season and it showed today. One word the team has learnt and implemented today was Wide! It's a word they have heard a lot this season.
Thank you to all the parents who supported us today.
