What a Sunday of U15Boys indoor hockey in Merthyr. Firstly thank you to the 9 boys and drivers who swam their way to the pitch. 6 Teams entered - so 5 games of 15mins over 4 hours was the challenge. First up Radyr, 6-1 win. Indoor skills a bit rusty but a good win against a team who play a lot of indoors hockey. Next Swansea - very tight game and Gwent gave away far too many short corners for Rob's liking - 0-0 finish (great game to watch). Next up Llanishen 5-0; Penarth 6-0 now Gwent were looking really good. Last up Whitchurch who had beaten Swansea - this game was for the bragging rights. A good game which Gwent looked twitchy at 1-1 but ran out 3-1 winners. U15 boys indoor winners 2017!! 20 goals scored and only 2 conceeded. Goal scorers Oliver Vowles with 7, Ben Wall 6, Tom McLean 4 and 1 each from Ellis Jenkins, Sam Evans & Ben Williams. All players played their parts today - in addition to those already mentioned, well done to Euan Brown, Ben Edwards and Ewan Sayce. Thanks to Rob Jeffs for umpiring and coaching the boys today.
